On December 23, local time, a South Korean bill to establish a special court to adjudicate cases related to civil unrest and rebellion was passed by the National Assembly on the same day. According to this bill, in principle, a special court for civil unrest cases is established from the first trial stage of the case, but since the by-laws stipulate that cases already being tried at the time the law was implemented will continue to be handled by the original court, the first instance of former President Yoon Seok-yook's suspected civil unrest cases will continue to be handled by the full court of the Seoul Central District Court.
