The Liaoning Province recently issued the “Measures for Evaluating the Titles of New Professional Farmers in Liaoning Province”, which proposes to carry out job evaluation work for new types of professional farmers to train and develop a team of high-quality agricultural and rural talents to better lead rural revitalization and development. The reporter learned from the Liaoning Provincial Department of Agriculture and Rural Affairs that the scope of the new type of professional farmers is agricultural and rural workers whose household registration address is below a township in Liaoning Province, who have certain agricultural technical skills such as planting, breeding, and rural social services, and can play a demonstration and leading role, and use agricultural production, operation or service as the main economic source. Liaoning Province plans to set up four levels for the new professional farmer title, namely beginner, intermediate, sub-senior, and senior. The judging majors include agronomy, gardening, plant protection, fisheries, animal husbandry, veterinary medicine, agricultural resources and environment, and agricultural mechanization. Farmers who have obtained the title of “New Professional Farmer” can receive some preferential treatment. For example, when grass-roots service organizations recruit relevant personnel in rural areas, they can enjoy priority employment under the same conditions; priority is given to new technology training, and priority is given to testing and demonstration of new varieties, products, and models.
