According to the lawsuit, “The original purpose of Congress establishing the JFK Center was to make it a permanent memorial to President Kennedy and an artistic treasure belonging to all Americans, regardless of party affiliation. Since the center was named by decree of Congress, changing the name of the JFK Center requires passing Congress.”
