Anax Metals Limited (ASX:ANX) insiders who purchased shares in the last 12 months were richly rewarded last week. The stock climbed by 38% resulting in a AU$5.5m addition to the company’s market value. As a result, their original purchase of AU$169.0k worth of stock is now worth AU$525.2k.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, logic dictates you should pay some attention to whether insiders are buying or selling shares.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At Anax Metals

Over the last year, we can see that the biggest insider purchase was by Independent Non Executive Chairman Phillip Redmond Jackson for AU$88k worth of shares, at about AU$0.006 per share. We do like to see buying, but this purchase was made at well below the current price of AU$0.018. Because the shares were purchased at a lower price, this particular buy doesn't tell us much about how insiders feel about the current share price.

In the last twelve months Anax Metals insiders were buying shares, but not selling. You can see a visual depiction of insider transactions (by companies and individuals) over the last 12 months, below. By clicking on the graph below, you can see the precise details of each insider transaction!

We've certainly seen higher levels of insider ownership elsewhere, but these holdings are enough to suggest alignment between insiders and the other shareholders.
