This marks the entry into use of the entire G0711 highway from Urumqi to Yuli. China is once again creating a new miracle in the world of tunnel construction. As the fastest highway route from Urumqi to southern Xinjiang, the Wuwei Expressway has a total length of 324.7 kilometers, with a total investment of 46.7 billion yuan. It was built after more than 5 years of fighting and overcoming difficulties. The driving time from Urumqi to Korla was reduced from the previous 7 hours to more than 3 hours. Driving to “enjoy the snow in northern Xinjiang early, and the sand in southern Xinjiang in the afternoon” is changing from a vision to a reality.
