US Federal Bureau of Investigation Director Kash Patel said the Hoover Building, the agency's historic headquarters in Washington, D.C., will be “permanently closed” as staff move into the former USAID building. The building, named after Edgar Hoover, has been criticized for “being in disrepair and no longer meeting the needs of the FBI office.” Patel said that the plan to close the building would not only save taxpayers' money, but also better meet the needs of the FBI to carry out its duties.
