On the 26th local time, Ukraine's “Wartime Status and Post-War Election and Referendum Preparation Working Group” held its first meeting. Alexander Korniyenko, the first vice-chairman of Ukraine's Verkhovna Rada and head of the election preparation task force, said at the meeting that due to the ongoing impact of the conflict, a large number of voting sites in Ukraine have been damaged. Kornienko pointed out: “In fact, one-third of the voting sites in Ukraine have been destroyed, and a large part of them are located in areas not controlled by the Ukrainian side. Since it is impossible to enter these areas, the Ukrainian side believes these sites have been destroyed.” He further explained that regardless of frontline or non-frontline regions, Russian military missile and drone attacks have affected a large number of facilities that were used as election voting sites, including dormitories, hospitals, etc. Chairman of the Central Election Commission of Ukraine Alexander Ditenko stressed that preparations for the elections still face the threat of landmines, which is a major security hazard.
