The “National E-Government Development Report” recently released by the State Internet Information Office shows that in the past ten years, China's government data resource system has been systematically restructured. A national integrated government big data system has gradually been formed, and a national integrated government data sharing hub has been built, 32,000 types of data resources have been released, supporting departments in various regions to share and transfer 540 billion times, unlocking great value in serving economic and social development and improving people's livelihood and welfare. According to the report, in the past ten years, e-government has enabled the performance of duties and increased efficiency to achieve overall improvements. Information sharing and business collaboration across regions and departments have achieved remarkable results, and the application of informatization in economic regulation, market supervision, social governance, and ecological environment protection continues to deepen. The informatization of government services has developed by leaps and bounds. 92.5% of provincial administrative licensing matters can be accepted online and “run at most once”. The “efficient completion of one thing” services cover the entire life cycle of enterprises and individuals, and “cross-provincial co-operation” and “free licensing” have become the norm. According to the report, the international influence of China's e-government has been steadily increasing. In the United Nations e-government survey, China's e-government development index ranking rose steadily from 70th place in 2014 to 35th place in 2024, and the online service index ranked 11th globally.
