The CNPC Southern Oilfield carbon dioxide capture and liquefaction plant in Chengmai, Hainan was successfully put into operation and achieved smooth operation, marking a key step in the industrialization of carbon capture, utilization and storage in Hainan, providing solid technological and industrial support for a free trade port to build a world-class ecological civilization pilot zone. According to information, the carbon dioxide capture and liquefaction device successfully efficiently captures, purifies, and liquefies carbon dioxide from the oilfield's associated gas. Currently, the daily production of liquid carbon dioxide has exceeded 100 tons. On the basis of the successful promotion of the industrialization of carbon capture, utilization and storage, Southern Oilfield is actively exploring cutting-edge carbon sequestration technologies. Through continuous optimization of the capture process and the construction of an integrated monitoring system, the project achieved long-term stable storage of carbon dioxide, providing a reliable guarantee for the Hainan Free Trade Port to build a safe and low-carbon energy system.
