Starting at 6:00 p.m. local time on December 28, 102 townships in Myanmar's Yangon, Naypyidaw, and Mandalay provinces began holding the first phase of voting in the national multi-party democratic election. The voting period lasts from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. There are three stages of voting in Myanmar's general election.
