Recently, the State Council's report on the work of establishing and improving institutional mechanisms for integrated urban and rural development was submitted to the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress for consideration. The report points out that the next step is to improve the mechanism for equal exchange of urban and rural elements and two-way flow. Promote the full integration of people transferred from agriculture into the city. Liberalize settlement restrictions other than in individual megacities, improve the system for providing basic public services at places of permanent residence, and promote social insurance, housing security, compulsory education for migrant children, etc. for eligible agricultural transfers to enjoy the same rights as the registered population in the place of migration.
