According to the Zhitong Finance App, Minmetals Resources (01208.HK) issued an announcement that it has approved the feasibility study for a major expansion project at the Khoemacau copper mine in Botswana and officially commenced construction. The project aims to increase the annual production capacity to 130,000 tons of copper concentrate containing copper, and increase the annual production of associated silver to more than 4 million ounces. The project will include extending the mining area to the northern part of Zone 5 and the Northeast Mango and Zeta deposits; and building a mineral processing plant with an annual processing capacity of 4.5 million tons.
