Typhoon No. 9 of this year, “Bawe,” weakened from a super typhoon level to a strong typhoon level last night. The Central Meteorological Observatory continued to issue an orange typhoon warning at 6 o'clock this morning. In order to minimize the impact of the typhoon and reduce food loss, before being affected by typhoon “Bawe,” the Zhejiang Wenzhou Food and Material Reserve Bureau seized a brief clear weather window, launched an emergency food harvesting plan, and raced against time to “grab food” from the typhoon. In Ruian, the Mayu Grain Reserve freed up sufficient storage space ahead of schedule. At the same time, all the staff at the grain depot worked overtime, opened the warehouse early in the morning and worked overtime at night, making every effort to ensure the smooth storage of the harvested early rice. As of 12:00 noon on the 9th, the entire city of Wenzhou had seized a total of 2252.357 tons of summer grain; set up 25 compliant purchase depots, freeing up 154,000 tons of effective storage capacity; and equipped with 535 sets of special equipment for inspection, transportation, and miscellaneous removal.
