The Zhitong Finance App learned that the “Guangdong Bus Southbound” was expanded to 9 cities in the Greater Bay Area starting July 25. According to the Hong Kong Transport and Logistics Bureau, there were about 15,800 applications to enter the city by lottery in July, which is more than three times more. Of these, about 60% of the applications came from the five additional mainland cities.

The number of vehicle inspection centers in the mainland has been increased to 23. The cities that have newly established centers include Shenzhen, Foshan, and Dongguan. Five more centers will be put into service in the next two months. At that time, 28 centers will cover all cities in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The Secretary for Transport and Logistics of Hong Kong, Chen Meibao, and her team visited the “Guangdong Vehicle Southbound” Vehicle Inspection Centre yesterday to inspect preparations for the new vehicle inspection center, including registration, vehicle inspection, and installation of “easy to pass” vehicle stickers. They expressed satisfaction with the preparations for the vehicle inspection center.

The number of cars entering the city area has also been increased from 100 to 200. The Transportation Bureau will also launch an “e-Park Tour” service at port parking lots on top of the existing “eBoFly” service to increase the carrying capacity of software and hardware. The authorities said that the demand of mainland residents, especially individuals and families with high spending power, to travel, do business, attend exhibitions, use professional services and casual dining in Hong Kong will drive the growth of Hong Kong's retail, catering and diversified economy.
