During the 2026 World Summit on the Information Society Forum held in Geneva, the China Association for Science and Technology's United Nations Consultative Committee on Information and Communications Technology held a side event on “Bridging the Intelligence Divide: Artificial Intelligence Capacity Building and Knowledge Sharing for the Global South”. The participants had in-depth exchanges on topics such as the opportunities and challenges of artificial intelligence capacity building in the Global South, the practical path of artificial intelligence to empower the Global South, the construction of an inclusive AI governance system and data ecosystem adapted to the Global South, and deepening practical artificial intelligence cooperation between China and Africa.
