07:32 AM EDT, 07/10/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The British government designated four global cloud services and technology companies as critical third parties, effective July 13, to bolster the resilience of the UK's financial sector. The designated companies include Microsoft's (MSF.F) Microsoft Ireland Operations, Alphabet's (ABEA.F) Google Cloud EMEA, Amazon's (AMZ.F) Amazon Web Services EMEA, and Oracle's (ORC.F) Oracle Corporation UK. Additional companies may be added over time under a rolling regime. The designation allows the Bank of England, Prudential Regulation Authority, and Financial Conduct Authority to jointly oversee the critical services that the companies provide to the financial sector amid a growing reliance on cloud services.
