Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Bagae said in an interview on the evening of July 10, local time, “America's default has become a habit.” Bagae said that in just 22 days since the signing of the memorandum of understanding between Iran and the US, the US continues to violate many of its provisions: the US military attacked Iran again on July 8 and 9, in flagrant violation of Articles 1 and 2 of the Memorandum of Understanding; the US lifted exemptions relating to Iran's oil sanctions, in violation of section 10 of the memorandum; and the US also announced new sanctions against Iran, in violation of section 9 of the memorandum. Bagae said that in this 14-article memorandum, the US side uses various excuses to violate many of them — “we need not be surprised, because default has always been part of the pattern of conduct of successive US administrations.”
