Previously, Jilin Province had upgraded emergency response for flood control and typhoon prevention to level 3. As of 6:00 p.m. on July 12, 18 water level stations in 14 rivers including the Yinma River and Jiaohe River in Jilin Province had exceeded the alert level by 0.04-1.14 meters. Eleven reservoirs operating above the flood limit in Jilin Province are currently being discharged in an orderly manner. The Songliao Commission pre-empted storage ahead of schedule in response to typhoon No. 9 “Bawei.” Up to now, Fengman/Baishan Reservoirs still have 6.7 billion storage capacity and flood control space below high flood control levels.
