Affected by water vapor transport from the periphery of typhoon “Bawe”, heavy to torrential rain occurred in central Jilin Province. From 5:00 a.m. on July 11 to 5:00 p.m. on July 12, the average rainfall in the province was 27.5 mm, and the maximum precipitation was 88.4 mm. Previously, Jilin Province had upgraded emergency response for flood control and typhoon prevention to level 3. As of 6:00 p.m. on July 12, 18 water level stations in 14 rivers including the Yinma River and Jiaohe River in Jilin Province had exceeded the alert level by 0.04-1.14 meters. Eleven reservoirs operating above the flood limit in Jilin Province are currently being discharged in an orderly manner. The Songliao Commission pre-empted storage ahead of schedule in response to typhoon No. 9 “Bawei.” Up to now, Fengman/Baishan Reservoirs still have 6.7 billion storage capacity and flood control space below high flood control levels. In order to ensure the safety of visitors, 131 scenic spots in Jilin Province have adopted closure control measures. As of July 12, a total of 14,119 people had been transferred from Jilin Province.
