The Bank of Korea released a report on Monday saying that the global semiconductor market is still in short supply, and it is expected that the current supercycle driven by artificial intelligence will continue for some time to try to dispel investors' concerns that the chip cycle has peaked. The Bank of Korea stated in a report submitted to members of the National Assembly: “Although investment related to AI infrastructure has greatly boosted demand for semiconductors, production capacity expansion has been slow,” adding that the semiconductor industry cycle has shown no signs of slowing down. The Bank of Korea pointed out that the current chip cycle is different from the past. Its core driving force is that major companies compete to increase investment, and all parties predict that the spread of artificial intelligence will bring fundamental changes to the industrial ecosystem. The Bank of Korea said, “The current market is dominated by customized chip products such as high-bandwidth memories, and there are more restrictions on capacity expansion than before. The growth and expansion trend of the global semiconductor market is expected to continue for quite some time.”
