Passenger Link Branch: Sales of 62,000 vehicles in the June pickup market increased 29.1% year-on-year, with strong export performance

The Zhitong Finance App learned that according to data from the Passenger Link branch, the pickup truck market sold 62,000 vehicles in June 2026, up 29.1% year on year and 2.8% month on month. It is at the highest level in the past 5 years. The market showed the characteristics of an increase in production and sales at the turn of spring and summer. January-June sales volume increased 11.9% to 343,000 units.

The pattern of the domestic market and export market is clearly differentiated. Great Wall Motors (601633.SH) continues to maintain its leading position as a strong pickup truck, with stable performance both at home and abroad. Affected by continued year-on-year growth in exports, SAIC Chase, JAC, Zhengzhou Nissan, and Changan Automobile (000625.SZ) all showed strong performance. In the domestic pickup truck retail market, Great Wall Motors, Jiangling Motors, Zhengzhou Nissan, Radar Motors, Jiangxi Isuzu, etc. performed well, and the domestic “one super pickup truck” pattern continues to be maintained.

The export trend was strong in June. In June 2026, the country exported 38,000 pickup trucks, up 44% year on year and 6% month on month; from January to June 2026, the country exported 188,000 pickup trucks, an increase of 34% year on year, and the industry's share of exports continued to be high. In 2024, pickup truck exports accounted for 45% of total pickup truck sales; in 2025, pickup truck exports reached 50%; cumulative pickup truck exports reached 55% in the first half of 2026; and pickup truck exports reached 61% in June 2026. China's autonomous pickup truck exports increased quite well.

New energy pickups: In June 2026, there were 90,000 new energy pickups, up 18% year on year, down 2% month on month; 45,000 new energy pickup trucks from January to June 2026, up 8% year on year; forming a trend where the overall growth rate of new energy pickups was slightly weaker than the overall growth rate of fuel pickups. With the development of electrification and passenger use, the space in the pickup truck market will gradually improve.

Among new energy pickup truck sales in June: BYD (002594.SZ) pickup trucks sold 4,000 units overseas, Geely Radar electric pickup trucks 2,600 units, Zhengzhou Nissan 1,936 units, Changan Zengcheng pickup truck 555 units. Other pickup truck companies' new energy vehicles are also on a certain scale. With the launch and cultivation of the domestic NEV pickup truck market, it is expected that Chinese pickup trucks will develop faster in the future to meet domestic and foreign demand.
