Donald Trump Jr. criticized ideological bias in artificial intelligence (AI) systems, warning that AI could become a powerful tool for shaping public opinion and influencing society on a scale beyond traditional institutions.

Trump Jr. Raises Concerns Over AI Bias

On Monday, Trump Jr. took to X to express concerns about the potential impact of politically biased AI, arguing that AI could have a greater cultural influence than organizations he has criticized as promoting progressive viewpoints.

"As I’ve said, Woke AI will do far more damage than the entirety of woke media, woke education, woke corporate, and every other woke institution combined," Trump Jr. wrote.

He added that AI could influence people without their awareness, saying, "People will be manipulated, propagandized and transformed and they won’t even know it’s happening."

Trump Jr. concluded his post by calling the situation "Absolute insanity."

AI Bias Risks Raise Concerns

Earlier, Former White House AI and Crypto Czar David Sacks backed Elon Musk’s concerns that ideological biases in AI training could make systems misleading, warning that teaching AI to "lie" could create serious risks.

Sacks said he was less concerned about rogue superintelligence and more worried about government misuse of AI for surveillance, information control and restricting dissent.

Former Vice President Mike Pence also called for a balanced AI policy approach, arguing that limited government oversight combined with free-market competition would help the U.S. maintain leadership in AI while ensuring AI systems align with national interests.

Last year, researchers found that AI models can inherit hidden behaviors from seemingly meaningless data, raising new concerns about undetected biases and AI safety risks.
