10:41 AM EDT, 07/14/2026 (MT Newswires) -- The UK Prudential Regulation Authority and Financial Conduct Authority on Tuesday launched a consultation on new proposals to regulate captive insurance in the country. The proposals include a streamlined authorization process, lower capital and reporting requirements, and a flexible capital resources framework, according to a same-day release from the Bank of England. The consultation will run until Oct. 14, 2026, with a target to launch the regulatory regime in the summer of 2027. The proposed regime only covers captive insurance for a parent company and other companies within its structure. The regulators will look into incorporating protected cell companies into the regime in the future.
