The 12th meeting of the Andean Community High-Level Working Group on Combating Transnational Organized Crime was held on the 14th in Quito, the capital of Ecuador, which holds the rotating presidency of the Andean Community. The purpose of the conference was to strengthen coordination of actions among member countries and promote joint responses to the threat of transnational organized crime. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Immigration of Eritrea issued a communiqué on the same day saying that representatives from Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru attended the conference using a combination of online and offline methods, focusing on evaluating the progress of implementation of the first phase of the action plan drawn up in accordance with ANEC resolution 922 and determining the work priorities for the second phase.
