Mao Ning, chief engineer of the Environmental Resources Institute of the Ministry of Transport's Planning and Research Institute, said at the 2nd Vehicle Energy Integration and Smart Ecological Development Forum held today that to promote large-scale application of new energy heavy trucks, policy guarantees should be strengthened, and the implementation of old operating trucks scrapping and renewal policies should be continuously promoted; and that the special funds for energy saving and carbon reduction within the central budget should be used to support zero-carbon transportation channels. At present, the Ministry of Transport has carried out the first batch of financial subsidies and is coordinating the planning of the second batch of zero-carbon transport corridor subsidies. Core elements such as the second batch of construction mileage, participating provinces, scope of application of subsidies, and subsidy ratios are all in the preliminary investigation and demonstration stage.
