I learned from the Ministry of Water Resources that during the “14th Five-Year Plan” period, China promoted the digital and intelligent transformation of hydrological monitoring capabilities, 8,790 basic national hydrological stations were upgraded, and the forecasting period for major rivers was extended from 3 days to 10 days. With the sharp increase in investment in hydrological infrastructure construction in China, there are more than 133,000 hydrological survey stations of various types, which have basically achieved full coverage of large rivers, their main tributaries, and small and medium-sized rivers with flood control tasks.
