Acting Venezuelan President Delsi Rodriguez said on July 17 that Venezuela had withdrawn 346 million US dollars from its reserve position in the International Monetary Fund to rebuild the earthquake-stricken area. International Monetary Fund Managing Director Georgieva posted on social media confirming that the relevant funds had been withdrawn. She said that the International Monetary Fund is cooperating with relevant parties to “help Venezuela use its own resources in the organization” to meet urgent humanitarian needs. Georgieva said that the funds were taken from Venezuela's reserve position.
