On July 18, the Chinese Academy of Agricultural Sciences and the China Agricultural Green Development Research Association released the “China Agricultural Green Development Report 2025”. The report shows that the level of green agricultural development in China will continue to improve in 2025. The report mentioned that in terms of agricultural resource conservation and conservation, China's agricultural efficiency and water conservation will steadily advance in 2025. By the end of 2025, the country had applied more than 88 million mu of integrated water and fertilizer technology for grain and oil crops; in the past 10 years, the country's annual agricultural water consumption and the actual average amount of water used to irrigate arable land per mu had decreased by 5.7% and 14.9%, respectively. In terms of environmental quality in agricultural production areas, scientific fertilizer efficiency, and comprehensive utilization of straw continued to improve. The utilization rate of chemical fertilizer for the three major grain crops in 2025 was 43.3%, an increase of 3.1 percentage points over 2020; the pesticide utilization rate of the three major grain crops was 45.0%, an increase of 4.4 percentage points over 2020; the comprehensive utilization rate of straw in the country stabilized above 88%, and the total area of straw returned to fields exceeded 400 million mu.
