The Standing Committee of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China recently decided to hold the 9th Plenary Session of the 12th Shanghai Committee of the Communist Party of China on July 24, 2026. The main agenda of the plenary session was to review and pass the “Opinions of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China on Thoroughly Implementing the Spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's Important Speech and Strengthening the Source Function of Scientific and Technological Innovation”, “Opinions of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China on Accelerating the Construction of a Highland of Artificial Intelligence Development and Governance Innovation”, and “Opinions of the Shanghai Municipal Committee of the Communist Party of China on Further Implementing the Concept of People's Cities and Accelerating the Modernization of Megacities”; and reviewing and passing the resolution of the 9th Plenary Session of the 12th Municipal Committee.
