From January to June, the value added of the large-scale pharmaceutical industry increased by 6.4% year-on-year. Among them, the growth rate of biological products reached double digits, becoming the main engine driving the development of the industry. The export delivery value of pharmaceuticals exceeded 210 billion yuan, an increase of 9% over the previous year. The export structure was continuously optimized. High-value-added products such as chemical preparations and biological products account for nearly 20%. The export structure is shifting rapidly from mainly APIs to pharmaceutical products with high added value. Furthermore, digital intelligence technology and green technology are empowering the pharmaceutical industry to accelerate transformation and upgrading. Comprehensively collaborate to promote the digital and intelligent transformation of the pharmaceutical industry, cultivate smart pharmaceutical factories in a gradient, support 21 pharmaceutical industry enterprises to build excellent smart factories, accelerate the green and low-carbon transformation of the pharmaceutical industry, and cultivate more than 300 green factories. Tao Qing said that the next step is to speed up the implementation of the “Fifteenth Five-Year Plan for the Development of the Pharmaceutical Industry”, concentrate efforts on building “innovative medicine,” “digital medicine,” “inclusive medicine,” and “open medicine,” continue to strengthen research on original technology and key core technologies, and use artificial intelligence to fully empower the development of the industry. Strengthen medication protection for key groups such as “one old, one young” and patients with rare diseases, and strive to make every patient able to use, afford, and use it well, so that more “made in China” good drugs and new drugs can benefit patients around the world more quickly.
