Prysmian Signs Up to $5.5 Billion Deal to Supply Optical Cables for Data Centers

02:27 AM EDT, 07/20/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Italian cable manufacturer Prysmian (PRY.MI) signed a 10-year agreement worth up to 5.5 billion euros to supply optical cables for data centers. The agreement, which includes an upfront payment of 550 million euros, was signed with electronic and fiber optic connectivity systems provider Molex, a portfolio company of US private equity firm Koch. Prysmian added in a Monday release that it plans to undertake a significant capacity expansion to more than double its fiber capacity in the US. Prysmian intends to invest 1.25 billion euros through 2031 for the planned capacity increase.
