According to a report published by China Merchants Securities International, Geely Automobile's European production capacity cooperation is expected to heat up. The CEO of Volvo Cars recently stated that he is open to foundry at the Ghent factory and may assemble Geely brand cars in the future. Reuters reported in February that Geely is negotiating European production capacity cooperation with Ford or using Ford's Valencia plant in Spain to produce models for the European market. The bank believes that since Ford has successfully reached a deal with Geely to acquire Volvo, the Ford factory is likely to take on the Geely brand's mid-range and low-end overseas models, while the Volvo factory is expected to take on high-end models such as Extreme Krypton and Lynk & Co to further improve Geely's local production layout in Europe. According to the bank, European production capacity cooperation is gradually being implemented, reflecting the company's highly flexible overseas strategy. Geely is expected to reduce the impact of trade barriers such as tariffs and compliance, and accelerate European market expansion and overseas sales growth. The bank is optimistic about the company's accelerated localization in Europe and the continued expansion of overseas business. Due to attractive valuations, it maintains an “increase in holdings” rating and a target price of HK$36.
