The US State Department said that the tension in the Middle East has intensified, the security environment is complicated, and there is a risk that the situation will escalate unexpectedly. US citizens currently in the Middle East should stay alert and prepare for flight cancellations, phased airspace closures, and other travel disruptions; US citizens outside the Middle East should reconsider traveling to or through the region. The US State Department also said that US diplomatic facilities, including those outside the Middle East, have been targeted. Iran and its supporters may launch attacks against other US interests overseas, as well as locations related to the US and US citizens around the world.
