China Merchants Shipping announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary Hong Kong Minghua has become an important participant in the ocean transportation of key minerals in the Simandou project, and plans to sign a “Long-term Transportation Agreement” with the China Mineral Resources Supply Chain Company, which owns the shipping rights for Simandou ore products. The Simandou project is a large-scale high-quality open-pit hematite mining project located in Kairouane province in southeastern Guinea in West Africa. Currently, about 4.4 billion tons of high-grade iron ore have been discovered, and the total production capacity can reach 120 million tons/year after completion. As an important transportation service provider for the Simandou project, Hong Kong's Ming Wah has completed the transportation of about 600,000 tons of critical minerals for the Simandou project.
