Swiss Quarterly Trade Surplus Widens in Q2

02:11 AM EDT, 07/21/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Switzerland's trade surplus increased to 13.93 billion francs in the second quarter from the revised 10.81 billion francs in the prior three-month period, according to data from the Federal Office for Customs and Border Security published Tuesday. Seasonally adjusted exports rose 8.8% on a nominal basis to 73.23 billion francs, representing the third-highest level in history. Meanwhile, quarterly imports grew 4.9% to 59.3 billion francs, the highest level since the first quarter of 2025.
