Banco Santander Logs Higher H1 Profit, Total Income

01:35 AM EDT, 07/22/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Banco Santander (SAN.MC, BNC.L) said Wednesday that its attributable profit and total income for the first half jumped year over year. Profit attributable to the parent for the six months ended June 30 was 8.97 billion euros, compared with 6.83 billion euros earlier. EPS moved to 0.60 euro from 0.43 euro. The Spanish bank's total income was 30.82 billion euros, compared with 28.98 billion euros a year ago. Looking ahead, the group affirmed its targets for 2026, including mid-single-digit revenue growth and profit to be higher than the 14.1 billion euros in 2025. It also maintained its target for an attributable profit above 20 billion euros by 2028.
