The Zhitong Finance App learned that on July 22, a Ministry of Commerce press spokesperson answered questions from reporters on issues related to France's “anti-ultra-fast fashion” law. Among them, it was mentioned that the Chinese side has noticed that the “anti-ultra-fast fashion” law recently introduced by France imposes discriminatory restrictions on Chinese cross-border e-commerce platforms and seriously distorts fair competition through legislation. The Chinese side is seriously concerned about this. The Chinese side believes that the law actually implements exclusive measures in the name of formulating so-called “environmental protection” and “sustainable” standards. It is suspected that it violates the WTO principle of non-discrimination. It has already constituted a trade barrier with China and seriously deviates from France's fair competition and free trade standards. It will not only damage the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese enterprises, but also hurt the vital interests of French consumers.
