The reporter learned that in the next ten days, due to the combined effects of subtropical high pressure, high-altitude trough, and subsequent typhoon landings, there will be significant rainfall in parts of the Pearl River, Yangtze River, Songhua River, etc., and it will overlap highly with the area where the rainfall fell earlier. Some tributaries of the Xijiang River, Beijiang River, Dongjiang River, Han River, the middle and lower reaches of the Yangtze River and Dongting Lake in the Pearl River Basin. Major rivers such as the Nen River, the Jilin section of the Songhua River, and the main stream of the Songhua River will experience water rise; some small to medium rivers in the torrential rain area may experience excessive flooding; and there is a high risk of flash floods within the coverage area of heavy rainfall. Faced with possible flood conditions, the relevant officials of the Ministry of Water Resources requested that work be done in six areas: strengthening monitoring, forecasting and early warning of rain conditions, doing a good job in flood control and scheduling in large rivers, focusing on flash flood disaster prevention, strictly implementing measures to prevent dam collapse in reservoirs, strengthening embankment inspection and defense, and strictly preventing typhoon storms and floods.
