Anglo American Logs Higher H1 Copper, Manganese, Diamond Production; Iron Ore, Steelmaking Coal, Nickel Outputs Drop

02:44 AM EDT, 07/23/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Anglo American (AAL.L, AGL.JO) said Thursday its production of copper, manganese ore and diamond grew in the first half, while output of premium iron ore, steelmaking coal, and nickel declined year over year. In the six months ended June 30, the mining group's copper production inched up to 343,600 tonnes from 342,200 tonnes a year ago. Manganese ore output jumped to 1.7 million tonnes from 1.1 million tonnes, and diamond production grew to 14.9 million carats from 10.2 million carats. On the other hand, premium iron ore production for the six months declined to 30.6 million tonnes from 31.4 million tonnes, steelmaking coal output fell to 3.6 million tonnes from 4.3 million tonnes, and nickel output decreased to 18,200 tonnes from 19,300 tonnes. The group affirmed production expectations for full-year 2026 of 700,000 tonnes to 760,000 tonnes of copper, 55 million tonnes to 59 million tonnes of premium iron ore, and 21 million carats to 26 million carats of diamonds.
