Zhitong Finance App learned that after signing a memorandum of understanding between the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission and the Malaysian Securities Commission (Malaysia Securities Commission) earlier today (July 23), they jointly organized two industry round tables to discuss the mutual listing of enterprises and investment products.

The two round tables were the first exchange events under the newly signed memorandum of understanding, bringing together senior personnel from the two exchanges — Bursa Malaysia Limited and Hong Kong Stock Exchange Limited — as well as over 120 Malaysian industry stakeholders, including representatives of major local and international investment banks.

The Hong Kong delegation, led by Ms. Leung Fung-yee, CEO of the Hong Kong Securities Regulatory Commission, consists of 33 senior personnel from Hong Kong asset management companies, bookmakers and investment banks. Key members of the delegation include the chairmen of the Hong Kong Investment Funds Association and the Hong Kong Chinese Fund Industry Association. The assets managed by the participating asset management companies together account for more than 80% of the total market value of the Hong Kong Stock Exchange traded funds and leveraged and reverse products market.

At the meeting, the two regulators reaffirmed their shared vision of strengthening the market ties between Hong Kong and Malaysia. Industry leaders also exchanged views on mutual listing opportunities and operating experiences for enterprises and investment products, as well as cooperation opportunities in the two markets.
