The threat from the Houthis continues to exacerbate shipping uncertainty in the region. The “Lucky Olympic” oversized tanker loaded some Saudi crude oil through the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea and is currently sailing to an undisclosed destination in Asia. Another oversized tanker, the “DHT Gazelle,” which also heads to Asia, may follow the Suez Canal route as the “Lucky Olympic”. The ship is currently anchored at the entrance of the canal without a load, and the ship is carrying some crude oil from the Saudi port of Yanbu.
