If this ruling is finally confirmed by South Korea's Supreme Court, Yoon Seok-yook's election as South Korea's president in 2022 will be deemed null and void. Yoon Seok-yeol was fined more than 1 million won in the first instance for violating the Public Office Election Law. If this verdict is finally confirmed by the Supreme Court of Korea, Yoon Seok-yeol's election as President of South Korea in 2022 will be deemed invalid, and the National Power Party to which she ran for election will be required to refund approximately 39.7 billion won of election funds. On December 26, 2025, South Korea's Kim Gun-hee Special Inspection Unit sued Yoon Seok-yeol for violating the Public Office Election Law.
