About 600 former senior officials from the Israeli military, police, the General Security Service, and the Intelligence and Secret Service jointly sent a letter to US President Trump, calling on the US side to urge the Israeli government to curb increasing settler violence in the West Bank and warning that the local situation might escalate the conflict. The joint letter stated that the conflict in the West Bank may further escalate, and that increasing violence is “endangering Israel's security, American interests, and regional stability.” In a joint letter, these former officials also warned that the consequences of a further deterioration in the situation may even be “more disastrous” than the new round of conflict between Palestine and Israel on October 7, 2023 and the multi-line conflict Israel faced thereafter.
