EXCLUSIVE: Webull Just Made 'Smart Money' Bond Strategy Available For $500

Webull Corp. (NASDAQ:BULL) is bringing a slice of Wall Street’s playbook to the masses. The online investment platform on Monday launched Managed Bond Portfolios, a new offering from Webull Advisors that gives retail investors access to professionally managed portfolios of individual bonds — a first-of-its-kind robo-advised bond product for everyday traders.

Powered by fixed-income infrastructure firm Moment, the offering pairs direct bond ownership with hands-off, professional portfolio management — no picking maturities or credit ratings required.

In exclusive comments to Benzinga, Matt Peterson, Webull’s Head of Fixed Income, explained why this wasn’t possible until now.

“Historically, professionally managed individual bond portfolios were largely reserved for high-net-worth investors because the economics simply didn’t work at smaller account sizes,” Peterson said. “Advances in fractional bond trading, automation, and market infrastructure now make it possible to bring that same type of professionally managed experience to a much broader group of investors.”

He added that demand is being fueled by today’s rate backdrop: “We’re also seeing renewed interest in fixed income as elevated yields have brought investors back to the asset class. At the same time, many investors tell us they want the benefits of owning individual bonds, such as defined maturities and greater transparency, without the complexity of researching and managing a portfolio themselves.”

Webull is rolling out two strategies. Enhanced Cash targets U.S. Treasuries with maturities up to two years, aiming to beat cash and money-market yields with low volatility — accessible with just a $500 minimum and a 15-basis-point annual fee.

High Income spans investment-grade and high-yield bonds, targeting 6%+ annualized income, with a $2,000 minimum and 30-basis-point fee.

For context, similar individually managed bond strategies have traditionally required minimums north of $250,000 and fees between 0.50% and 1.00% — putting them well out of reach for most retail investors.

“This launch marks a major step forward for Webull Advisors as we expand professional wealth management beyond what traditional robo-advisors and self-directed platforms can offer,” said Sara Schwartz, CEO of Webull Advisors.

“It’s bond portfolio management that’s historically been reserved for high-net-worth clients, now accessible to everyday investors.”

With bond yields still elevated and retail appetite for fixed income rising, Webull’s bet is that “smart money” bond strategies no longer need a seven-figure account to access.
