Listen to the news

When a single insider purchases stock, it is typically not a major deal. However, when multiple insiders purchase stock, like in JLT Mobile Computers AB (publ)'s (STO:JLT) instance, it's good news for shareholders.

Although we don't think shareholders should simply follow insider transactions, we would consider it foolish to ignore insider transactions altogether.

The Last 12 Months Of Insider Transactions At JLT Mobile Computers

In the last twelve months, the biggest single purchase by an insider was when Chief Executive Officer Per Holmberg bought kr2.0m worth of shares at a price of kr1.80 per share. That means that even when the share price was higher than kr1.73 (the recent price), an insider wanted to purchase shares. Their view may have changed since then, but at least it shows they felt optimistic at the time. In our view, the price an insider pays for shares is very important. It is generally more encouraging if they paid above the current price, as it suggests they saw value, even at higher levels.
