On July 27, local time, Russian President Vladimir Putin met with the outgoing leadership of the State Duma and members of parliament at the Kremlin. In his speech, Putin praised the resilience of the Russian economy and reiterated his commitment to achieving goals in the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. Putin said that Russia has been facing “illegal restrictions, deterrence, and pressure” for a long time. Since 2022, Western countries have put the “anti-Russian machine” at full capacity, setting a “world record”: one is the number of sanctions, and the other is the ineffectiveness of sanctions. Putin pointed out that since Western countries are unable to defeat Russia on the battlefield, they are now relying instead on “open terrorist methods” to deal with the Russian people. He stressed that no one can defeat the Russian people; this has never happened and will never happen.
