At 11:16 on July 28, a 5.7 magnitude earthquake occurred in Xinghai County, Hainan Tibetan Autonomous Prefecture, Qinghai Province. The depth of the earthquake was 10 kilometers. Another 5.8 magnitude earthquake occurred at 11:34. As of now, there have been no reports of casualties. After the earthquake occurred, the Xinghai County Committee and County Government quickly set up a temporary headquarters, initiated a three-level emergency response, and organized a comprehensive investigation and verification of the casualties and disaster situation in each township where relevant personnel sank. After preliminary investigation and verification, the epicenter of the earthquake was close to Doba Village in the hot springs town and Ma Limao Village in Longzang Township. The earthquake caused varying degrees of damage to houses and road infrastructure in seven townships throughout the county.
