In recent years, there has been an increasing demand for cultural relics data from all sectors of society. Luo Jing, director of the Science and Technology Education Department of the State Administration of Cultural Heritage, explained that the “Measures for the Management of State-owned Cultural Relics Resources Data” clarifies the data rights subjects of state-owned cultural relics resources, clarifies the subjects responsible for state-owned cultural relics resource data, and establishes a full-life cycle management system for data collection, processing, storage, transmission, registration and service, which is of great significance in achieving the goals of clear, open, orderly, effective, safe and controlled scientific management of cultural relics data rights and interests, and guides the cultural relics industry to carry out cultural relics digitization practices. The measures also emphasize that state-owned cultural relics management agencies should follow the principles of impartiality, fairness, and convenience, provide services such as active disclosure and authorized use to the public, and promote cultural relics protection and digital development achievements to benefit the general public more and more fairly.
