11:55 PM EDT, 07/29/2026 (MT Newswires) -- Deutsche Lufthansa's (LHA.F) Swiss International Air Lines, d/b/a Swiss, said smoke in the cabin caused the emergency landing of flight LX16 in the US. The airline's clarification follows reports that a cockpit fire triggered the emergency landing at Bangor International Airport in the US state of Maine. Swiss further explained that the smoke resulted from the heating up of a charging case for headphones after it was jammed into a seat.
