On July 30, the relevant officials of the Chinese Embassy in New Zealand made serious representations to the New Zealand Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade regarding the negative remarks made by relevant politicians concerning China in the new parliament, demanding that the New Zealand side cherish the equal and mutually beneficial relationship between China and China and do more things beneficial to bilateral relations, rather than the other way around. It was emphasized that the vast overseas Chinese community in New Zealand abides by local laws and actively integrates into mainstream society, has made important contributions to New Zealand's economic and social development, and should be recognized and respected. We call on the New Zealand side to respect and protect their legitimate rights and create an open, inclusive and non-discriminatory environment for their new studies, lives, and work.
