On the morning of the 30th, the “One Call for Every Response” fire fighting and rescue emergency linkage cooperation agreement and the launch ceremony of the Meituan Rider Volunteer Fire Service Team were held at the Guangzhou Fire and Rescue Bureau. The first batch of volunteer riders were officially integrated into the urban fire fighting and rescue emergency linkage system after training. During the investigation, the fire rescue department discovered that Meituan takeaway riders walk around the clock in urban villages, back streets, and commercial district buildings. Their familiarity with regional roads and house plate layouts far exceeds that of ordinary citizens, and they have the conditions to become emergency aid forces. Through repeated research with the Guangzhou Municipal Emergency Management Bureau, the Municipal Public Security Bureau, the Municipal Courage for Justice Foundation, and various platform companies, a linkage mechanism for “call for fire, social response, nearby assistance, and close environmental barriers” has gradually taken shape. Clarify boundaries of responsibility. Riders do not replace professional strength, do not take on tasks with unknown risks, participate completely voluntarily, are not included in platform assessments, and always put their own safety first. The duties of volunteer riders focus on four auxiliary directions: checking building signs and return coordinates after arriving at the scene to help the rear to accurately grasp the location; using vehicle-mounted equipment to prompt evacuation on the periphery to prevent people from blindly entering dangerous areas; using equipment from nearby miniature fire stations to dispose of the initial fire situation first; and assisting firefighters to transport water belts, air respirators and other equipment to the work surface in narrow lanes in urban villages.
